ANTICIPATION - 100 word story

This week's photo reminded me of my own childhood fairground experiences. In England we call this ride a Big Wheel. I have only ridden the Big Wheel once!

ANTICIPATION

Phoebe was no more than knee high to a hedgehog the first time she went to the annual funfair. When she saw the Big Wheel she squealed in excitement.
'You're too small, Poppet.'
Phoebe was devastated. 'When, Daddy?'
'When you reach my armpit.'
Every year Phoebe measured herself to no avail until the glorious day arrived.
She climbed into the Big Wheel car with her daddy. At last!
They rose higher and higher. Phoebe screamed in delight. The car reached the peak and began to drop. Phoebe's stomach somersaulted.
'Daaa-ddd-yyy!'
'Noooo!' he yelled as Phoebe projectile vomited all over him.

I hope you enjoyed this story and I look forward to your comments.

This week's Friday Fictioneer's photo made me smile. Hope my story makes you smile too.

BETTY'S ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

Betty the dealer specialised in finding interesting things to restore. She trawled junk shops to pick up stock. Things that could be used in a different way than intended, excited Betty most.
She bought iron gates and beautiful old doors to turn into coffee table tops.
She bought old picture frames to turn into mirrors.
She bought tatty curtains to turn into cushions.
When Betty saw the piano, she fell in love. But what on earth could she turn it into?
Betty had found the ultimate challenge.
After sleepless nights, she had a eureka moment. A planter. What else?

I hope you enjoyed this story and I look forward to your comments.
